At Discovery, we believe that Baptism is like the believer’s wedding ceremony, that it represents the outward expression of an inward decision to follow Christ. We think it is a time of great celebration!

Baptism at DCI is a time when our whole congregation comes together for a family cookout in honor of those dedicating their lives to Christ. You bring the towels, lawn chairs, and tailgates, and we’ll bring the pool!  Didn’t someone say cookout?  We’ll provide hotdog lunches for our all of our family and guests, but we also enlist the help of a couple of local food trucks to provide “alternative” food choices for purchase.

Whether you are making the decision to publicize your declaration of faith in Christ for the first time, or you would like to rededicate your life, we would be honored to celebrate your decision with you.

We’re excited for our next baptism event on June 2nd, 2018!  We hope you’ll be there to share it with us!

Let’s do this!   I have a few questions

To learn more about Baptism we’d encourage taking a look/listen to our “I Have Decided” series.  You can listen here on our website’s media page, or use our Discovery Church App while you are on the go.

All of our DCI family is welcomed and encouraged to celebrate with those “deciding.”  The grounds at DCI become a happening place.  We encourage people to tailgate and bring picnic blankets as our picnic tables and additional outdoor seating fails to comfortably seat everyone ready to celebrate–with that being said there is more than enough space for everyone and we have all the grass you could hope for.

If you’ve been baptized in the past, then we want to see your shirt!  Wear your shirt as a testament of your decision, and also as support for those making it now!

Hotdogs and lemonade are great, but given the choice some people decide on a different lunch.  If hotdogs aren’t your thing, then no worries–we will have a couple of food trucks offering other food choices for purchase.

Invite your friends and family to celebrate with you.  Feel free to take a digital copy of our invite cards (below) and/or re-post any of our Facebook items as digital invites.  Of course you can also get hard copies every Sunday at the info center.

And if you are getting dunked this Baptism, then you might want to bring a dry change of clothes to change into before you head home.
